Husn Qarn Majid
Husn of Qarn Majid is an important architectural landmark that looms over the entrance to Wadi Daw‘an and sits at the pinnacle of the road which forks south. It marks the significant urban culture of the area and points to the important architectural landscape that lies beyond. One of the distinguished Husün (forts) of Wadi Daw‘an, it’s history dates back to Shaykh ‘Abdullah bin Muhammad Quhum Al ‘Amudi born in Budah in AH1227/1812AD. Built on four floors it is constructed entirely in mud brick. The roof terrace overlooks the the right Wadi bank, with the traditional pavilion, ghulb perched on top. The rehabilitation project was started in partnership with the Prince Claus Fund/CER in June 2013.
